Students come back year after year for our camp's:

"Dynamic repertoire, performance experience, private lessons, guest artists, and new friends."

Eastern Music Festival Summer Study is a transformative five-week celebration of musical accomplishment. Program focus* includes Orchestra, Piano, Conducting, Classical Guitar, and Euphonium Tuba. Students also receive private lessons, master classes, chamber music study, and a concerto competition.

EMF showcases two equally talented young artists orchestras. Each orchestra rehearses six times a week in accordance with professional standards for preparation, punctuality and performance. Both orchestras perform with faculty soloists, visiting artists and winners of the EMF concerto competition. Seating in each orchestra rotates. Maestro Schwarz and EMF’s artistic leadership select a mix of musically and technically demanding repertoire that challenges each young artist. At EMF, all are inspired and challenged by the repertoire and the environment.

The Festival is nestled in the lush tree canopy of Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. The 63rd anniversary season of summer study and classic masterworks will be June 22 – July 27, 2024.
