Look for Margot’s album with So French Cabaret coming in January.
Today on Harp Column we’re listening to “So French Cabaret,” a group featuring Berklee-trained French harpist/singer “Margot.” Here’s their take on the French jazz standard “C’est si bon.” The group is busy recording a full-length album that will include mostly original tunes in both French and English described by Margot as “a very glamorous sound inspired by the French Cabaret of the ’40s. I fell in love with jazz seven years ago, after being in a project with Archie Shepp who became a kind of godfather of the project,” says Margot. The album is being produced by Olivier Glisssant, who has also collaborated with Norah Jones.
