Berlin Philharmonic principal harpist Marie-Pierre Langlamet is in the news prior to concerts Jan 7–9, 2017, in Santa Rosa, Calif. She’ll perform Debussy’s Danses Sacrée et Profane along with Ginastera’s Concerto for Harp and Orchestra with the Santa Rosa Symphony under the direction of Bruno Ferrandis. “It shows the many facets of the instrument … as a folk instrument and percussion instrument, with lots of rhythm,” says Langlamet of the Ginastera. “It’s hot blooded.”
