Lyon & Healy has announced details for the 2019 Lyon & Healy Awards, scheduled to take place March 14 – 16, 2019 at its concert hall in Chicago. The competition is open to harpists under the age of 30, with applications due Jan. 15, 2019.
The two pieces selected for the biennial competition include “Sarabande e Toccata” by Nino Rota and “Le Jardin Mouillé” by Jacques de la Presle, both to be performed from memory. The three winners selected will receive a prize of US $2,000 and a $500 gift certificate to Lyon & Healy. The 2017 competition took place at Carlton College in Northfield, MN with prizes awarded to Ching Wei Lin (Pittsburg, PA), Madeline Jarzembak (San Francisco, CA), and Subin Lee (Seoul, South Korea). Hannah Cope (Provo, UT) received an honorable mention.
