Huffington Post reviews Janelle Nadeau’s new album

November 30, 2017

Shout out to Canadian harpist Janelle Nadeau for her recent feature in Huffington Post. The article, written by Randy Radic, gives a rave review of her newly released album Star of Night – a collection of 10 Christmas tunes. Nadeau, who also provides vocals on the album, is joined by Stephen Fisk on guitar and vocals and Ian Mackie on percussion. Radic calls the album “outstanding” and praises the innovation and meditative quality. He takes particular delight in the final track “Peace on Earth,” saying, “Nadeau’s velvety voice and Fisk’s hushed tenor blend together wonderfully, imbuing the music with tiny hooks of mellow savor that are lushly transparent.” You can view the article here.

Originally from Manitoba, Nadeau is currently acting principal harpist with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra. In addition to her orchestral career, she plays with Turning Point Ensemble, the medieval group Winter Harp, and regularly partners with Health Arts Society to perform in hospitals. She graduated from the University of British Columbia and has studied with Richard Turner, Heidi Krutzen, Rita Costanzi, and Deborah Henson-Conant.

You can check out Nadeau’s website here. Interested in hearing her perform? Starting Nov. 30th, 2017, she will be touring throughout Canada alongside harpist Kim Robertson as part of “A Prairie Christmas.”
