What’s the story behind the photo? My late wife Olive Bernard co-founded the Rocky Mountain Springs Harp Program. This photo features 2016 teachers (and former students) Grace Bauson and Rachel Browne on hill above Steamboat Springs trying to represent the program’s blend of musical growth and outdoor fun. We do not actually have harp races to the top of the mountain.
What’s your favorite piece to play on the harp? I carry harps, I don’t play them. Favorites for listening are the Debussy Danses on pedal harp and “The Lark in the Clear Air” on Irish harp.
What do you do to avoid practicing?
I encourage others to practice. If they all row, I can be a happy passenger.
