Harp Duo Lilac 94, comprised of Christina Brier and Kathryn Sloat, have teamed up with a trio of composers—Daniel Morel, Alex Cooke, and Bret Bohman—to create three new pieces for harp duo as part of a consortium project to include 21 harp duos. The collection will be “a journey through Mid-Western landscapes and the images they evoke,” according to the duo. The works are anticipated to be five minutes in length, and can be performed individually or collectively. The consortium aims to include 21 harp duos (including Lilac 94, who will serve as the lead duo) to participate with a $250 fee. The sign up deadline is October 15, and the collection is scheduled to be delivered by April 15, 2015.

Lilac 94’s members met while students at the Eastman School of Music. Christina Brier is currently Principal Harpist with the Wilmington Symphony (N.C.); Kathryn Sloat is completing post-graduate work at Mannes School of Music.
