Glowing Harp Competition Results

The Glowing Harp Competition announced winners following its recent competition and festival held February 17–22, 2017, in Kharkiv Ukraine. Maria Pozdnyakova (Russia) and Oksana Sidyagina (Russia) took top honors, tying for second prize in Category IV (up to age 36). Oksana Sidyagina also received the prize for the specially written piece “Ukranian Fantasty,” by Evgen Andreev.

Juliusz Wesolowski (Poland) won first prize in Category III (up to age 22); Dariia Ahapova (Ukraine), Elizaveta Rakovska (Ukraine), and Alara Ust (Turkey) tied for second prize in Category II (up to age 16); and Bahar Asci (Turkey) received the top prize in Category I (up to age 12); Tuana Coskun (Turkey) and Victoria Smetana (Ukraine) also received first prize in Category I. “The idea of Glowing Harp is to unite competition, recitals, and master-classes and also to give an opportunity to young harpist to play with the orchestra,” said Art Director Veronika Lemishenko, who co-founded the competition in 2014 with Larisa Klevtsova, now its Chief Manager. Salvi Harps sponsored the 2017 event, and jury members included Chantal Mathieu, Ekaterina Musliyenko-Savkina, Delphine-Constantin Reznik, Alina Bzhezhinska-Lazorkina, and Larisa Klevtsova.
