Can you access this outside of the UK ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b062jsn7 – a thoughtful discussion entitled Growth Mindset, with Carol Dweck (Stanford) about the plasticity of the brain without fixing a child’s outlook and really I don’t limit what I teach to only the stuff I learnt as a child – I introduce new concepts gradually to stretch and develop them, but the harp is difficult at any level so I try not to limit my expectations of children who are slower than others.
