Emily, if you go to http://www.ukharp.net, it will take you to the home page of United Kingdom Harpists Association. Click on CONTACT US and put your information and inquiry into the boxes, then Submit. I’m sure you’ll receive the information about summer harp camps in the UK soon.

Hi Shari! Are you still looking for a harp camp? The Beverly Hills Chamber Festival is in its 9th season and is adding a harp component to their summer music festival in Beverly Hills, California. Check out the website for more info: http://www.bhmusicfestival.org/main.html.

Students will have lessons, master classes, public performances and will be placed in chamber music ensembles. The festival is open to all ages and levels. This is an exciting opportunity for harpists as it draws musicians and faculty members from all over the world! Questions? Feel free to contact me at charissabarger@gmail.com. Happy harping!

To me, the best programs provide at least four, and up to eight weeks of continuous, intensive study. It takes at least six weeks to learn a new piece. There are only a small number of such programs, but there might be a few teachers who have more than one program that would add up to six weeks.

I’m starting a harp program at the Penn State Music Camp this summer. Here’s the website if you’d like to check it out: http://www.outreach.psu.edu/programs/music-camps/

You would have the opportunity to play in ensembles, take private lessons, and take music courses! This is not as intense of a program as others I’m sure but the atmosphere is fun and a great learning environment for young harpists!
