The Dutch Harp Festival has announced the required repertoire for its next competition, which will take place Feb. 26–March 2, 2014. The First Prize winner will receive €10,000 along with a concert tour; other prizes range from €2,500 to €5,000. The competition includes three live stages, concluding with a final concerto round. Contestants may choose from Harp concerto (Reinecke, Carl), Concerto for Harp and Orchestra in E-flat Major, op. 74 ( Gliere, Reinhold), or Harp Concerto (Ginastera, Alberto) to perform with orchestra (with the artistic committee choosing one movement to be performed), in addition to the newly commissioned New Harp Concerto (Patterson, Paul) and a free choice “storytelling” work.
