Chicago Harp Quartet plays “Hungarian Rhapsody No 2”

August 23, 2016

Not ones to shy away from a challenge, the Chicago Harp Quartet has tackled Franz Liszt’s dramatic “Hungarian Rhapsody No 2,” which the group unveiled several weeks ago in a live performance on their YouTube channel. Listeners will recognize the iconic melody made famous by cartoon and film scores. Originally written as the second of 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies for solo piano, Liszt subsequently orchestrated the piece, and it has since been arranged for countless instrumental combinations. Enjoy!
