Barbara Weiger Lepke-Sims receives Lifetime Achievement Award from AHS

Barbara Weiger Lepke-Sims was honored with the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Harp Society (AHS) on June 25. The award is given “to honor extraordinary service to The American Harp Society, Inc. and the harp,” according to the organization.

Weiger Lepke-Sims has served as President of the Denver chapter of the AHS, as a Midwestern Regional Director, a Director-At-Large, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and in many other other volunteer capacities for the organization. In 2000 she established the Weiger Lepke-Sims Family Sacred Music Award through the AHS Foundation, where she has served as a board member.

“Volunteering for the American Harp Society for the past 30-plus years has been one of the highlights of my career and has brought much joy to my life by serving this organization and seeing it grow,” says Weiger Lepke-Sims, “I cherish the friendships I have made and the opportunities and experiences I have encountered. The AHS is made up of a vibrant community of musicians who understand the transforming power of music through the harp and intentionally hope to pass this passion on to future generations.”
