Agnès Clément wins first prize in the ARD International Music Competition

Update 9-7-16

Following the finals of the ARD International Music Competition, a winner has been announced… The first prize is awarded to Agnès Clément, from France! Clément also received the audience prize (based on an online vote) as well as the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned composition by Krzysztof Meyer.

Held in the Herkulessaal der Resident, in Munich, this fourth and final round of the competition featured each of the three finalists performing a concerto with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The president of the jury was Maria Graff, and other jury members included Nancy Allen, Chantal Mathieu, Sarah O’Brien, Fabrice Pierre, Cristina Bianchi, and Stephen Fitzpatrick.

First Round results are in for the prestigious ARD International Music Competition, taking place August 29–September 7, 2016 in Munich. Following competition days on August 29–31, harpists who will advance to the second round are:

The second round takes place September 1–2; semi finals with the Munich Chamber Orchestra are on September 4; the final round with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks takes place September 7.

The ARD International Music Competition is held annually, with each year featuring a different set of instrument and ensemble categories. Previous harp winners include Emmanuel Ceysson (2009); Anton Sie (2004) and Isabelle Moretti (1983).
