Katherine Siochi wins 2016 USA International Harp Competition

Stage 4 Results:

American Katherine Siochi is the first prize winner of the 10th USA International Harp Competition following the 4th and final stage held Saturday, June 18 at Auer Hall on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington. She is the first American to win the competition since Marie Casale in 1989. Elizabeth Bass of the United Kingdom finished second and Lenka Petrovic of Serbia won third prize. The three finalists each performed Ginastera’s Concerto for Harp Op. 25. The winner receives a gold Lyon & Healy harp, a cash prize, concert engagements, and a recording contract. Other prize winners are as follows:

Fourth Prize: Se Hee Hwang, South Korea
Fifth Prize: Claudia Lamanna, Italy
Sixth Prize: Valeria Voshchennikova, Russia
Seventh Prize: Woojin Lee, South Korea
Eighth Prize: Aisté Baliunyté, Lithuania

Stage 3 Results:

Following Stage 3 of the USA International Harp Competition, the following harpists will advance to the final round, which takes place Saturday, June 18, 2016.
