Nothing Beats Being Here: US Open

September 8, 2014

This afternoon ended another successful year at the US Open, performing at the President’s Gate for the Players and VIPs! I entertained them as they arrived with newly arranged covers from Radiohead to Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. The stream of celebrities passing by included Gladys Knight, Michael J. Fox, Mariska Hargitay, Bruce Willis, Tony Parker and NASCAR race car driver Jeff Gordon.

A beautiful blonde caught my eye as she stepped out of a black Suburban, her left leg encased in a cast from a broken foot. It was supermodel Christie Brinkley. In a moment only an experienced catwalker could have provided, she posed for the paparazzi directly in front of the harp! The camera shutters furiously clicked away and there I was, in the background of each photo.

My credential allowed me to walk around the grounds and gain entrance to Arthur Ashe stadium after my performance, so I was fortunate enough to watch the men’s final between Kei Nishikori and Marin Cilic from a prime view.

My #StoryoftheOpen is complete for 2014. Looking forward to next year!!
