Anyon played Amahl and the Night Visitors?

I have been asked if I want to do this for 4 professional performances. They don’t have any music though and don’t expect any until just before rehearsals start. It looks/sounds straight forward on you tube but you cant tell if that was a doctored part or the original! Has anyone played it and if so how was it?

Yes, I play it almost every year. We’ve done it about six times, I think. Music less than 50 yrs old is not available on ISMLP. If you send me your email address, I’ll try and scan the sections.

Every harp player is different, but I find it very difficult, and I start reviewing it long before rehearsals start. (I always copy and keep music.)
Most everything in it is VERY exposed, and the notes kind of don’t go together and are oddly arranged. Some sections are straight forward, thank goodness.

It’s just my opinion, and everyone’s skills are different, so you might not find it as hard as I do.
Someone else might tell you something entirely different.

I’ve played it, and it was a lot of fun! Fortunately I got the music about a month in advance, so I knew it pretty well by the time we rehearsed and performed it. Not terribly difficult, as long as you have time to learn the music.
