Anneleen Lenaerts Releases Chopin & Liszt

November 9, 2012

Belgian harpist Anneleen Lenaerts has released a recording featuring the composers Chopin & Liszt, which is also the name of her new recording for Challenge Records Int. The tracks include piano transcriptions by Henriette Renie, De Wayne Fulton, and Lenaerts herself. Included are Un Sospiro; Waldesrauschen; Caprice-Valse, no. 2; Romance; Le Rossignol; and Liebestraum, all by Liszt; and Polonaise, opus 26 no. 1; Nocturne, opus 9 no. 1; Fantaisie-Impromptu; Nocturne, opus 48 no. 1; Aeolian Harp, étude opus 25 no 1; and Minute Waltz, opus 64, no. 1, all by Chopin. Lenaerts, who has served as principal harpist with the Vienna Philharmonic since 2010, says the choices are “for sure a risk in the way that it’s all piano music, but I think it’s very important for harpists to think as musicians, rather than only harpists. If this music works for our instrument, it can only broaden our horizon as an artist.” Visitwww.challengerecords.com to purchase the recording.
